Over the past few years, the support and love we have received from our French customers and partners has been overwhelming. We have always wanted to do more for them and have recently expanded our data center and CDN network with a new location in Paris, France to improve loading speed and user experience for local businesses and individuals. The next logical step was to offer the service in French and what better time to do it than the week of Bastille Day, the French national holiday!
In addition to the local fr.siteground.com site now available to all French visitors, SiteGround customers can now change their language and start using their customer area, Site Tools, knowledge base and tutorials, blog, and support communication in French.
Change your language to French
You can now easily change your current language preferences for your SiteGround service to French. Simply go to the profile page in your customer area and select French from the Language dropdown menu. Once you've done this, your customer area and the Site Tools interface will appear in French.
The change will also affect the rest of your SiteGround content: all tutorials, knowledge base articles, blog posts, and support communication will now be in French. Switching back to your previous language or to another language is just as easy.
For more complex technical issues, you will be able to submit support questions in the chat and/or tickets in your preferred language and receive responses from our representatives in French as well. Migrate to our Paris data center
If most of your site visitors are located in France, you may want to consider moving your site(s) to our data center in Paris. This will significantly improve your site loading speed and overall customer experience for French visitors. And in case you only have an occasional or smaller portion of your visitors coming from France, make sure to have our SiteGround CDN enabled. With its new CDN node in Paris, your French visitors will enjoy a faster web experience, with near-local loading speed.
You can move any of your existing websites to our new data center in Paris by requesting a relocation in your Customer Area > Marketplace > Hosting Services > Relocation . You can relocate individual sites, hosted on a shared web hosting service, or your entire Cloud hosting account, if you are using the Cloud hosting service.
If you are a SiteGround customer from France, all new sites you create on StartUp, GrowBig, and GoGeek plans will be hosted by default in the new Paris data center for your convenience. Paris will also be your default location for the new cloud hosting plans.
