If you are an Individual you will need the following documents:
Taxpayer Card;
Identification document (Citizen Card, Identity Card, Passport, Driving License or Residence Permit).
In the case of a Legal Entity:
Company Card (or access code) or Legal Entity Card (or respective access code);
Updated Commercial Registration Certificate;
Minutes of the General Assembly.
Costs of Creating a Sole Proprietorship
There are some costs associated with setting up a sole proprietorship:
Certificate of admissibility of a cashapp database name or legal entity name - €75 (€150 in case of urgency);
Incorporation with pre-approved social pact - €220 (€360 if presenting its own social pact);
Trademark Registration - €100 (each additional trademark costs €44).
Steps to Create a Sole Proprietorship
It is possible to create a sole proprietorship in the traditional way at a tax office, through Empresa Online or Empresa na Hora. The business name must contain "Unipessoal" or "Sociedade Unipessoal", immediately followed by "Limitada" (or the abbreviation "Lda").

Access the Company Portal > Create Company Online;
Authenticate your identity (using your citizen card or digital certificate);
Enter the requested information (name, email, telephone/mobile number, civil identification number and address);
Select the Create a Company option.
Instant Creation of a Sole Proprietorship
Choose the company name;
Obtain a valid Certificate of Admissibility of Firm (online, at the various RNPC branches or by post using a specific form );
Choose a pre-approved pact (see information in Company Social Pacts on the Spot );
Go to a Counter on the Spot.
