2 OF 30 MARKETING LESSONS
Go digital or disappear. It's up to you. This second lesson is also important. Either you work in a digital marketing department, or you are in the process of going digital, or you are disappearing.
In the mid-nineties, many large companies ignored the Internet as a means of communication and marketing. In a very short time, much smaller companies, which did react quickly and jumped on the Internet bandwagon and grew rapidly, became a nightmare for those who thought too hard about it.
Something similar is happening today with the digitalisation of marketing and sales departments. And it is happening much faster than the Internet did in the 1990s.
A curious situation occurs in Spain. According to the Spain Digital Nation Report developed by the Spanish Association of Digital Economy, we have the best fixed and mobile telecommunications networks in Europe and the third in the world behind Japan and South Korea.
But according to the Digital Competence Study prepared by croatia business email list ICEMD and Kantar , 50% of Spanish companies have a very low rate (between 1% and 13%) of digitalization.
The pandemic that we are experiencing at the time of writing these lines has caused almost all sectors and companies to face the lack of digitalization abruptly and with serious consequences.
We have all been affected. But companies that have digitalised their processes have suffered less. And digitalised marketing departments have also been able to react quickly on all fronts.
After this, no one doubts that companies that do not digitalize, including their marketing departments, have an uncertain future.
We invite you to read our blog article The digital transformation of the marketing department where you will find tips on how to start the process of digitalization of the marketing and sales departments.
