María Laura de Sancho has always had a clear vision. She has had a solid career, gradually acquiring all the skills necessary to launch her own project and pursue her passion: communication. She is currently the Marketing Manager of the agency she founded with her brother, GdS Design, which operates internationally. She tells us her story in the following interview.

With a degree in marketing and economics, what did you want to be when you grew up?
As a child, I had no idea marketing existed, but it was always clear that I loved communicating. I played with my siblings and cousins, recording made-up radio shows on cassette tapes , we designed our own magazine—everything revolved around communication.

Then, in my teens, after canada mobile database reading an article we were asked to read in class, I was introduced to the world of marketing and advertising, and I realized that was my path.

You started working for Banco Macro as a Communications Support Intern and later rose to Senior Advertising Analyst. What were your first experiences in the advertising world like?
They were exciting, they were my first steps working in what I really liked.

While I took several classes focused on advertising while I was in college studying marketing, it was at the bank that I truly learned what this dynamic world was all about , from planning a major campaign to running an original project to coming up with a super last-minute credit card promotion.

We were a team of young people with a lot of enthusiasm, so even though we worked long hours, we did it with passion.

You then became head of marketing for Argentina and Chile at Canson. How did your responsibilities change compared to Banco Macro?
When I moved to Canson, the work experience was very different from that at Banco Macro for several reasons. For one thing, Canson gave me the opportunity to fully understand and apply everything I had learned in my career: marketing.

On the other hand, they were tangible products, a big difference from what a Bank “sells” .

Last but not least, my position offered greater responsibility and international reach. Canson is a French brand with a long history in Europe, but was just taking its first steps in Latin America. So I began traveling both within the country and abroad and met people from all over, which brought unique insights to my career that helped me grow and break away from my routine, allowing me to broaden my perspective, both professionally and personally.
