70% of professionals in the construction sector believe that the percentage of end users who reach them via the Internet will continue to increase in the coming years, according to a survey carried out among professionals on the digital platform for home improvement habitissimo.
In the context of World Internet Day , which will be celebrated next Tuesday, May 17, the platform's experts indicated that despite the fact that the construction sector is traditional in its way of proceeding and the professionals were, for the most part, not very related to technology, they have known how to take advantage of the advantages offered by the Internet as a tool.
This is demonstrated by other data mint data from the survey, which show that in the first quarter of the year, the number of professionals who believe that having an Internet presence has no influence at all when it comes to increasing their business has decreased to 7%, compared to 36% who consider it quite necessary, and those who consider it absolutely essential, representing 30%. In turn, 27% of professionals believe that being on the Internet is useful only on some occasions.
Similarly, the analysis reveals that 53% of professionals claim to have a website, a tool that experts consider "fundamental today for end users to access the services that renovation companies can offer" because the Internet is fully integrated into the lives of customers.
Among professionals who have a website, only 38% opened it more than 10 years ago and 27% did so in the last 4 years, "a reflection of the speed at which the sector is adapting to the digitalisation process," they add.

In addition to having a website, professionals are increasingly aware of the importance of having social profiles, a conclusion drawn from the data in which it can be seen that up to 79% of those surveyed have a profile on social networks. Specifically, Facebook and Instagram, which account for 29% and 22% of profiles respectively, are the networks preferred by professionals to make themselves known. In the case of Linkedin , 14% say they are active on this social network, Twitter, only 8% have an open profile, an even lower figure for YouTube, where only 6% of professionals are present. Finally, 21% say they are on a social network, but prefer not to indicate which one.
