The benefits of green energy

Post by pappu888 »

Spaniards who do not switch to green energy do so for reasons such as lack of information, the convenience of not changing companies and lack of time. I read this this morning in an article in the magazine Energías Renovables and also in Energética. One of the headlines was:

90% of citizens consider switching to green energy when they know its benefits for the environment.

It is therefore a question of misinformation rather than awareness. And, continuing with the articles, although more than 50% of citizens believe that opting for renewable energy at home is one of the main individual contributions to improve climate change, only 9% have contracted green energy. In addition, 45% of Spaniards have the false belief that renewable energy is more expensive than that from fossil fuels.

And you, are you part of any of these figures?

Given the lack of information, I will dedicate this post to partners email lists shedding some light on green energy and its benefits. You already know that at Naturgy, in addition to seeking solutions tailored to each client, we like to generate #GoodEnergy. Whether through the publications on this blog or through our environmentally-friendly products.

So let's delve a little into the world of renewable energy.

To start, do you know what renewable energy is and what types there are?

Renewable energy (also called "clean" or "green") is that which is obtained from inexhaustible natural resources and has a very small environmental impact. Some types of renewable energy are:

Wind energy
Photovoltaic solar energy
Solar thermal energy
Hydropower
Biomass

Taking care of the planet and your wallet

Renewable energies not only contribute to improving the health of the planet and people, they also allow you to take care of your wallet. These are their benefits:

They improve the environment
In their production, renewable energies practically do not generate greenhouse gases or polluting emissions. Therefore, they help us improve the climate situation. On the other hand, they promote self-consumption.

They come from unlimited sources
Renewables come from natural resources that are not exhausted, such as water, sun or wind.

They can be generated anywhere
So energy independence can be achieved and local economies improved. In addition, they are usually consumed in the place where they are produced and encourage the creation of workplaces. In fact, they generate five times more jobs than conventional energies.
