David Terraza is a specialist in finding strategic growth opportunities for the companies he has been part of. This student of the Master in Digital Marketing is the current Business Developer for Donkey Republic in Spain. Today we talk with David about the implementation and development of digital businesses in Spain.
What is Donkey Republic?
D: Donkey Republic represents a revolution in the bike rental business for two reasons:
The customer can find bicycles distributed throughout the city using Geolocation.
The entire process is carried out through an APP , from booking to the benefits of afghanistan phone data in business unlocking the lock, which works with Bluetooth technology.
In conclusion, the customer can rent a bike at any time of the day, without paperwork or deposit.
What is the difference, for example, between Bicing (a bicycle rental service in Barcelona) and Donkey Republic?
D: The most important difference is that the “Bicing” concept is designed for short journeys (using a bike at point A to get to the station at point B). Donkey Republic, on the other hand, allows you to rent a bike by the hour, day or even week.
In addition, during the rental period the user can park the bike wherever he or she likes . This service is therefore very suitable for tourists.
As a foreign company… How well is Donkey Republic being accepted in Spain?
D: The service was launched last October in Spain and today we are present in Barcelona and Madrid . The acceptance in both cities has been very good and in line with expectations.
Despite this and the fact that our main target is tourists , it will be during the next summer when we will really see if we reach the level of use that we have set for the key months of the campaign.

What strategies (that can be revealed) are you implementing to position the company in the Spanish market?
D: Our clients come largely from “ Google ” , both organically and through “ Google Ads ” . In this sense, I coordinate with the Marketing team the different campaigns we carry out for the Spanish market.
We also work with hotels and other organisations that have a high demand for bicycle rentals from their clients but for logistical reasons are interested in outsourcing the service. We offer them bicycles 24 hours a day in front of the hotel and without them having to deal with any paperwork because the entire process is carried out through the APP.
