Albert Salvadó completed the Advanced Technical Course in Search Engines (SEO) at IM. Through our job board , he did an internship that resulted in a permanent position at 4Crew. And if that weren't enough, he has just started a new project with his mentor at the Jevnet agency, which is a Google Premium Partner.
In the following interview, he tells us about his career path and how he managed to advance quickly and land the job he wanted in just six months.
With training and work experience as a journalist in places such as D turkey phone number list iario As or Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, why did you decide to take the Higher Technical Course in Search Engines?
A: I have a degree in journalism and during my studies I did internships in various media outlets. I realised that it is a very demanding profession and I wanted to try new ways. Also, it is very difficult to find work in a newspaper, radio or television station without knowing anyone on the inside.
To stand out a bit, I did a master's degree in Corporate and Institutional Communication Management, focused on corporate communication. With my stay at FGC I confirmed that I did like that and it fit my profile better.
A couple of classes in the master's degree were about SEO and I was captivated by a world that I knew very well. After doing some research, I saw that there was a lot of demand for professionals with knowledge in SEO , so I wanted to specialize in IM.
Do you think that having SEO knowledge is essential for journalists of the future to meet the requirements of the media due to digital transformation?
A: Yes and no.
On the one hand, I believe that having knowledge of how search engines work will help future media to position themselves better and reach more people.
On the other hand, good journalism should aim to inform people, not to satisfy Google. I am not against news that seeks to attack highly searched keywords, but that should not be the objective of a media outlet.
What other disciplines would a journalist need to master in order to work in digital environments? Have you personally thought about training in other branches of digital marketing?
