We start the month with energy. After a few weeks of disconnection, the return to routine has been inevitable for most of us. However, social networks do not rest and day after day they work to present new functionalities, ready to become essential for any user. For this reason, below we summarize some of them for the most absent-minded:
Threads, the messaging app for Instagram
At the end of August, it was announced that Facebook was planning to launch exploring russia's business landscape an instant messaging app for Instagram. This would be called “Threads” according to The Verge . Some of the features that have been announced for this new service are: the possibility of automatically sharing the exact location, if we are moving, the battery status, as well as sending photos and videos using Instagram tools. For now, not much else is known, time will tell if this new bet that seeks to conquer Snapchat's public is successful or not.
Are Facebook Likes Going Away?
Although it may seem contradictory, one of Facebook's most unmistakable symbols could disappear, hiding the number of likes that posts have. In fact, a few weeks ago several media outlets reported that Instagram was considering hiding this function. Although Facebook has not wanted to give more details for now, it seems that the social network is testing this function with some users.
Google Maps and Augmented Reality
The next new feature comes from Google Maps. The navigation app is betting on augmented reality and has launched a beta version for iOS and Android in which we can view directions in real time using the mobile phone's camera. Called "Live View", this new tool aims to make it easier for us to get around the city. It should be noted that it only works while we walk and in those places where we have the possibility of using Street View.
