Consortium system in June/2023: economic data

The Consortium System ended the first half of this year with 1.99 million new quota sales, another historic record in the more than 60 years of the modality. The same was true for the total number of active participants, which totaled 9.67 million in June, an increase of 10.4% over 8.76 million, corresponding to the same month last year.

Over the semester, business carried out through new entrants reached R$144.00 billion, 20.4% higher than the previous R$119.57 billion. New participants sought larger credits. The average ticket in June reached R$77.85 thousand, 15.5% higher than the R$67.40 thousand obtained in that month in 2022.

The System added up to more than 800 thousand contemplations, and the credits granted to the contemplated consortium members reached R$ 39.98 billion – an increase of 8% and 17.6% respectively.

Light Vehicle Consortium
The main segment in terms of number of members of the Consortium System sold more than 800 thousand quotas in the first half of the year. With a higher average ticket, these memberships generated approximately R$ 47 billion in business. In this segment, there were also increases in the indicators of active participants (5.1%), contemplated members (6.1%) and credits granted (18.5%).


Motorcycle Consortium
At the end of the semester, the second largest in terms of volume of active participants was marked by the increase in business conducted and credits released. The total number of new members in the same period showed an increase over last year. The accumulated number of contemplations and active members also grew. The average ticket in June was up 8.2% compared to last year.


Heavy Vehicle Consortium
In the first half of the year, heavy vehicle consortia recorded good performances in terms of contemplations and credits granted. The total number of active consortium members grew in June. The number of new members also exceeded previous figures. The average monthly ticket increased, leading to an increase in business. The more than 180 thousand contemplations, a significant increase compared to last year, allowed the System to make almost R$6 billion available for purchases in the automotive sector and investment in agribusiness .
