Salesforce has an annual cycle of three releases (Winter, Spring and Summer). In turn, this year Marketing Cloud will have 5 releases spread between January and October, which will bring many new features as we will see below.

If you already work with Marketing Cloud, you'll be interested in knowing all the changes that will be effective in the application starting in February, so pay attention to be up to date and get the most out of the new features and functionalities that Salesforce will introduce.

However, if you don't know what Salesforce Marketing Cloud is yet, we recommend you read the following article first to find out What is Marketing Cloud? The Salesforce Digital Marketing Hub.

How many new features will there be in Marketing Cloud?
As with all releases, Salesforce provides Marketing Cloud with a large number of new features, so the most appropriate thing is not to know the number of new features that this January release brings but rather how it affects the different apps within Marketing Cloud. Therefore, we can see that the new features have affected different apps within Marketing Cloud such as:

Advertising Studio
Several changes have been made to the Advertising Studio Lead Capture app Dashboard . Users can now sort, search, filter, receive notifications, and more, directly from the Lead Capture Dashboard (available on AppExchange).

Contact Builder
Contact Builder has undergone two minor changes that will be of great help to Marketing Cloud users. On the one hand, within the “Data Extensions” tab a column called “Record Count” will be included in which the number of records per Data Extension will be displayed. On the other hand, within the “All Contacts” tab there have been 3 changes in the labeling of names, which will now be called:

SMS will be Mobile Connect
Push will be MobilePush
OTT will be GroupConnect
Content Builder
Starting with this release, images hosted in Sitecore Content Hub will be able to be added to emails and content blocks. Additionally, tags can be added from the library to each file and a back icon will be included in each file type.

Journey Builder
Starting with this first release of 2020, it will be possible to create, send and monitor simple sends from Journey Builder with a single click, thus distinguishing between a journey with multiple steps and a journey with a single entry and a single send. Also, user permissions will begin to affect the creation of journeys in Journey Builder, this means that if a user does not have sufficient permissions to create emails or view Data Extensions for example, they will not be able to access this functionality in Journey Builder (to correct this type of error, the ideal is to give the user the role of Marketing Cloud Administrator).

Social Studio
Social Studio is taking a big step forward new zealand phone number library in 2020 with a host of new features. First, you can create Instagram stories from within Social Studio and assign them to a mobile user for later publication (all via notifications). Second, you can use Instagram hashtags as a data source via Command Center. Finally, you can delete accounts associated with Facebook, Instagram, or Google My Business within Social Studio, which is quite useful considering that previously you could only transfer some of the pages to a new user (this feature is ideal in case the person in charge changes jobs or leaves the company, for example).

Email Studio
As we will see in the next section, there have been a few changes in Email Studio that will remove previous functionality.

Einstein Marketing Insights
This app within Marketing Cloud allows you to further analyze the performance of emails sent in Email Studio or Journey Builder by discovering factors that affect subscriber behavior. Thus, Einstein Marketing Insights will allow, starting with the new release:

Measure the impact of subject lines in emails, allowing you to know the most used subjects, those that have had the best performance, most used lines and phrases and the hypothetical impact on the open rate.
Discover anomalies regarding the performance of emails sent over the past 90 days, and report any anomalies via notifications.
Possibility to choose the appropriate time period to send an email through Einstein Send Time Optimization (STO).
Mobile Studio
Like Social Studio, Mobile Studio grows exponentially and incorporates new and interesting functionalities such as:

Import contacts into GroupConnect via Import Wizard or via API and delete unwanted LINE messages from the main menu.
Access the Mobile Connect Admin pages from Setup and associate campaigns with SMS activities in Journey Builder.
Enable rich media notifications in MobilePush Administration.
Updated MobilePush SDK with iOS 13 enhancements, location-based messaging, and more.
Web Studio
The only new feature regarding Web Studio is the inclusion of permissions regarding CloudPages, in this way you can manage access to CloudPages, including permission to view, edit, publish, etc.
