It may seem boring at first, but accounting is a rapidly changing field . New rules, guidelines, and technologies carve out raw lines in the industry’s geography every week. Following a solid set of Twitter experts can help you stay on top of the shifting sands. Here are ten Twitter accounting experts to help you get started.

Twitter account

Ranked from best to least best, they're scored using a proprietary formula - aka "a gut feeling without any numbers" - that takes into account tweet frequency, relevance, and the chance to put a smile on your face.

Sam Antar
Sam is at the top of the list because if you bail before gcash database you read the whole thing, I want you to at least get this out of him. Antar's journey, a former CFO, took a bumpy turn when the feds discovered that the family business, Crazy Eddie electronics stores , had cooked books beyond recognition. Antar avoided jail time by testifying, and now he's helping to find his old kind of crooks.

I once saw him speak at the Motley Fool (where I worked) and was both intrigued and terrified. After an hour of talking, he reminded us that he only stopped being a con artist because he got caught. Like any good con artist, he made everyone feel good about themselves, and then quickly reminded us that there was a time in his life when he would have happily taken our wallets. I bet he's a real party animal.

Accounting today
A direct hit of news straight into your arteries. Accounting Today covers almost everything a US accountant could possibly know. The Twitter account contains a never-ending stream of news, ideas, and opinions about the world of accounting. Following these guys is a great way to stay up to date with the most important news posted on the Accounting Today website.

AICPA
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is, unsurprisingly, a great source of industry news. It also tweets special offers for its conferences, information about continuing education opportunities, and details of upcoming seminars and webcasts.

CPA trend lines
If Accounting Today isn't enough for you, CPA Trendlines will fill the void in your heart. Like a burst dam, CPA Trendlines is a flood of information for accountants. The account tweets a new link about as often as I blink. Still, it's a very interesting read, covering everything from Cuba to tax returns.

Morgan Housel
In my opinion, this is the epitome of the Motely Fool investment philosophy . Morgan is relentless in his demands for evidence, patient as the grave, and quick to shout financial nonsense when he rears his head. Less accounting and more general finance, anyone interested in business performance can learn something here.

To clarify, he is not a scammer. AS FAR AS I KNOW.

Tracy Alloway
Not a scammer either, as far as I know. Tracy Alloway is the executive editor of Bloomberg Markets. More news-focused than some of the others, and a bit broader in scope, Alloway always has something interesting to say about the day's news or market moves.

AccountingWEB
Tips, tips, tips. AccountingWEB is a fantastic resource for getting more done and doing your job better. Full of Twitter Q&A sessions, links to how-to articles, and sneak peeks at the biggest changes in the field. They also tweet out the occasional fun industry article - What Type of CPA Are You. For the record, I'd be a Champion if I were a CPA instead of the guy blogging for a software directory.
