Potatoes topped the list of goods that increased in price the most in 2024, RBC reports, citing Rosstat.

At the same time, in 2023, compared to 2022, potatoes, on the contrary, fell in price by 15.8%. According to the publication, its rise in price in 2024 may be a consequence of the low base of the previous year, when a record harvest of 8.6 million tons was collected.

Among the entire range of goods and services monitored by Rosstat, the laxative Bisacodyl increased in price by the end of 2024 (almost doubled, to 44 rubles). The list also included butter, which rose in price to 1.2 thousand rubles (+ 36.2%). According to Rosstat, overall consumer prices in 2024 jumped by 9.52%.
