Flow of objectives

Post by Blessing »

If Funnel Visualization is the uptight relative that always has you keeping your elbows off the table and washing your hands before eating, Goal Flow is the relaxed, fun relative that got you out of school and to the zoo.

All that to say: Goal Flow gives you a lot more freedom than the funnel visualization. Unlike the latter, Goal Flow shows all sessions that led to the completed final goal, regardless of whether the user completed the required goal #1 or not.

Another difference from the funnel visualization: Goal Flow also shows loops, i.e. when a user returns to a previous page or refreshes the current one.

If the user skips a step, Funnel Visualization "logs" it. The goal flow does not.

If you edit an existing funnel or create a new one, Funnel Visualization will show all of its data from that point forward. Goal Flow, on the other hand, can show you data from the past.

You can also toggle the report dimension and detail level, as well as the segment to get even more details.

I recommend looking at multiple segments to see which conversions have the country b2b b2c email list highest and lowest rates, as well as where they tend to drop off.

Note : This report is subject to sampling. ( Read more about GA's data sampling practices here ). Sampled data is usually quite accurate, but it means that the more important the conclusion you draw, the less uncertainty you can tolerate.

To reduce the sampling level, minimize the date range.

Smart Goals
This report is useful if;

A) You use Google Ads

B) You don't measure conversions.

Basically, Google uses machine learning to identify your “best” sessions, or those most likely to convert, and then translates those topics into Smart Goals.

Once you have smart goals, you can use them in Google Ads to optimize the performance of your ads.

Smart Goals are controversial within the marketing community because the data is minimal and businesses will be much better served by setting up their own conversion tracking. Keep this in mind if you decide to use them.
