When we analyze our clients' competitors at Agencja KS, we start by making a list of companies operating in the same industry. We define the criteria, scope of analysis, goals, and questions we want to get answers to. Then we create a file in which the data will be collected and analyzed. I have described how to do it below.
List of companies you compete with on the internet
Time to list all your competitors. I am sure that as an entrepreneur you know your competitors and their positions in the market to a greater or lesser extent, so this should not cause you any problems. However, it is worth specifying which competitors to consider.
Of course, include both small and large companies. Remember not to limit yourself to companies whose offer mostly overlaps with yours. Also focus on companies that specialize in a chosen branch of your offer. For example, if you sell and install windows, doors, garage doors, roller shutters, window sills in Krakow, then feel free to note a competitor who specializes, for example, only in the sale and installation of garage doors in Krakow and the surrounding area.
If you operate locally, for example, you provide home appliance servicing in the Podkarpackie Province, remember to take into account competitors operating in the same area as your company.
How to determine who your competitor is?
Together we will look for competitors with whom you compete for customers via the Internet. We will focus on those who appear high in the Google search engine for queries (phrases / keywords) related to your offer. It's not difficult, below I present two quick methods.
The first one is recommended for companies that are just starting out.
The second one is recommended for companies that have a website and have been operating on the Internet for a long time.
Method 1: Competitors from Google Search
Let's start by preparing a list of keywords that describe your business and the services/products you offer.
Let's assume that your company deals with the distribution, installation and service of air conditioners in Warsaw. Examples of such keywords would be:
air conditioner service warsaw
air conditioning installation warsaw
air conditioning for home warsaw
room air conditioning warsaw
air conditioning for office warsaw
portable air conditioners warsaw
wall air conditioners warsaw
e.t.c.
Prepare a similar list of keywords for your business.
1. Once you have the list, go to the Google search engine ->
2. Enter the first keyword in the search box and click “Search Google”

The search engine will display the most relevant results for our query.
Pay attention to:
organic results - i.e. results leading to websites
map package - i.e. company cards on Google maps
paid results - i.e. results with the label "Advertisement"
Check the above areas and make sure that the phrase you viber database entered applies to the region in which your company provides services. Be sure to check whether the results actually apply to the services / products you offer. For example - by entering the phrase "air conditioning service Warsaw" and "air conditioning service Warsaw" in the search engine, we will get completely different results - in the first case we will see car workshops servicing air conditioning in vehicles, and in the second companies servicing air conditioners in homes, offices, premises...
3. Visit each result and determine if it is your competitor, then save it to your list.
Method 2: Competitors by Tools
First of all, I suggest you use the SEMSTORM tool
Enter your domain or a competitor's.
A report will appear - in the first view, a graph showing estimated traffic and the number of keywords for which the domain is displayed. You don't need it at the moment. Focus on the rest and scroll down to the section called "Competitors".

Analyze the list you receive - write down any actual competitors.
Feel free to analyze competing domains as well and see if any other competitors appear.
The second tool worth using is Ahrefs
Thanks to it, we will check, among other things, websites competing with yours in the Google search engine. What's more, this tool will be very helpful in the further part of the competition analysis, because it will provide you with a lot of valuable information. So:

Analyze and note your actual competitors
Phew, now we have a list of companies that you actually compete with on the internet. All that's left for us to do is define the scope of the analysis.
