Lisa Bleser : Content Audit: Bleach CleanUp for your website

Post by kumartk »

Since the topic of content auditing is currently on my mind, I didn't want to miss Lisa Bleser's presentation on the topic. She also stepped in at short notice as a substitute speaker, as Johannes Beus from Sistrix was unfortunately unable to attend due to illness.

When Lisa began her talk, I immediately had to laugh when she asked which of the participants would like to be at the beach and then asked them whether they felt comfortable on littered beaches. The answer, of course, was a algeria phone number data resounding no, and so Lisa immediately made the connection to SEO, explaining why many, in turn, run littered websites.

Overview of the goals of a content audit:

Restore focus to the most important pages
Reduce the number of pages
Optimize relevant content for Google
Take the opportunity to clean up the website before a relaunch
When conducting a content audit, two analysis methods are used that should definitely be carried out:

The quantitative analysis
The qualitative analysis
Quantitative analysis involves data-driven evaluation of website content using KPIs and key SEO metrics (e.g., organic traffic, meta data, bounce rate, dwell time, etc.). Helpful tools here include the Screaming Frog crawling tool and Google Search Console.

Qualitative analysis

Conducting a qualitative analysis involves examining the website for factors that cannot be objectively measured. These include the following aspects, which should be considered in the qualitative analysis:

Checking the topicality of the website content
Consideration of user intention and comparison with the competition
Readability of texts (especially on mobile devices)
Graphical design of the pages (user experience)
Integration of call-to-action elements: These should be present at the end of the content and refer to a product page or, if applicable, the contact form.
