Where is Audience Overlap located?

Before we get started, here’s a quick guide on where to find Audience Overlap in the SEMrush interface.

Go to the Traffic Analytics tool , enter a domain and click “Search”.

Click the blue "Add Competitors" button to enter a website you want to compare with.

Note: You must enter at least one domain to compare against for the the benefit of using our student database Audience Overlap tool to appear in the interface.

Get information from less obvious competitors
Premium brands don’t compete with the mass market. Or do they? Your audience might not care much about which market you identify with – your customers just want to buy a polo shirt. It doesn’t matter if your audience is looking for basics or high fashion: Audience Overlap lets you gather real information about your audience .

For example, you discovered that Maxim Italia website visitors have the same socio-demographic characteristics as your target group . Audience Overlap shows you that these users haven’t been reached by your ads in other trade magazines. Of course, Maxim Italia isn’t likely to publish a long article about business development, but if your brand is open to a creative experiment, an ad in this magazine could help you reach the part of your target audience that hasn’t been covered by previous marketing campaigns.
